Janis MacKenzie, President

Janis founded MacKenzie  Communications in 1983 and has built the organization into a highly respected integrated marketing firm, serving clients locally, nationally and around the world. Prior to forming MacKenzie, she held positions in journalism, corporate communications, and public affairs. Janis provides creative and strategic advice to MacKenzie’s diverse accounts, bringing her depth of experience and community involvement to corporate and non-profit organizations. Over three decades, Janis has imbued the agency with a commitment to “doing well by doing good.” By doing great work, with great people, and achieving great results, MacKenzie Communications strives to be the firm of choice for employees and clients, and a strong community partner. Janis is vice chair of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and serves on Wells Fargo’s Community Advisory Board, the British-American Business Council of Northern California, and the International Services Advisory Council of the American Red Cross. Previously, she chaired the $100 million Saint Francis Foundation, as well as serving on a number of nonprofit boards. Janis is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Journalism, and still reads the daily printed version of local and national newspapers.
