@Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz

Over the last six years, MacKenzie has provided turnkey marketing and communications services to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the non-profit partner of the National Park Service, across a range of targeted projects and initiatives. Most recently, partnered with the Conservancy to promote their latest Art in the Parks collaboration @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz. Media and interest groups from all over the world joined us for the press preview, and the full list of coverage can be viewed in the Parks Conservancy’s press room. The history and story of Alcatraz is one that is close to our hearts, having helped “re-launch” the Alcatraz visitor experience as an international tourism destination in 2008.

The MacKenzie team also led the media outreach for the 2012 celebration of the Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary, to achieve broad-based community awareness, global media coverage and social engagement. From 2009–2012, MacKenzie served as the marketing agency for the Conservancy’s Institute at the Golden Gate program, a global environmental “think tank” and convener of environmental and business leaders devoted to creating environmental action and change—from sustainable food and health initiatives related to the parks, to climate change and eco-tourism.
