The San Francisco Bay Area Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA) was established by the California legislature to operate an integrated regional ferry service, expand ferry service on the Bay, and coordinate the water transit response to a regional emergency. Under the San Francisco Bay Ferry brand, WETA transports 2.6 million riders each year.
To expand capacity and meet the increased demand for ferry service, WETA is making investments in assets and infrastructure. To support these efforts, MacKenzie developed a sustainable and effective communications program designed to educate elected officials, inform passengers, boost media coverage, and generate a groundswell of support for the future of ferry transportation on San Francisco Bay. Additionally, we manage WETA’s ongoing public relations and provide event planning and production support.
